This thesis wants to establish a term for specific expectations of the future in society: [[Future Imaginaries]]. This term is used occasionally but without being theorized in more depth.

To approach the first description of Future Imaginaries, the concepts of ‘future’ from [[futures studies]] and ‘collective expectations’ (Imaginaries) from sociology and anthropology are combined.

The aim is to develop a theory-based draft for examining societal expectations of the future from the perspective of futures studies, on which a methodological approach to them can be built.
