Goals
This article is part of my Master’s Thesis - Future Imaginaries. Previous Chapter: 1. Introduction
This thesis wants to establish a term for specific expectations of the future in society: Future Imaginaries. This term is used occasionally but without being theorized in more depth.
To approach the first description of Future Imaginaries, the concepts of ‘future’ from futures studies and ‘collective expectations’ (Imaginaries) from sociology and anthropology are combined.
The aim is to develop a theory-based draft for examining societal expectations of the future from the perspective of futures studies, on which a methodological approach to them can be built.
